UHLC alumnus helps lead global legal organization

July 30, 2013 – University of Houston Law Center alumnus E. Paul Cauley, Jr. ’86 was recently elected as a member of the International Association for Defense Counsel’s (IADC) Board of Directors. The IADC is an invitation-only global legal organization with approximately 2,500 members whose practice concerns the representation of corporate and insurance interests. As a new director, Cauley will serve a three-year term on the IADC Board.

Cauley is a partner in the Dallas, Texas office of Sedgwick LLP where he serves as the Chair of the Firm’s Product Liability and Specialty Tort Practice Group. He serves as lead national and regional counsel for product manufacturers and other businesses in a wide variety of high-exposure product liability, class action, and commercial litigation throughout the country. He has also been recognized by “Who's Who Legal – The International Who's Who of Product Liability Defence Lawyers 2013 and selected to Texas Monthly’s list of “Super Lawyers” for the state of Texas for the last 10 years.

Cauley is a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, the Dallas Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute. He is actively involved in the IADC, where he is on the IADC Foundation Board and recently completed his term as Chair of the Class Action Committee.
