Warren HarrisIf you’re looking for ways to get involved with your classmates, plus friends of the Law Center and members of the judiciary, you’ve come to the right place.  Your UH Law Alumni Association continues to fill the calendar with things to do and places you need to be.

Earlier this week, we hosted the first-ever Law Alumni Happy Hour in downtown Houston – and probably broke a record for the number of good stories that were shared.  Many thanks to Bill Jackson ’92 for chairing our Events Committee and getting this great idea off the drawing board.

Next up: a tailgate party that starts at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28 outside of Robertson Stadium as our nationally ranked Coogs prepare to tackle the Rice Owls.  We’re co-sponsoring this event with the Bauer College Alumni Association, and click here for the details.

But don’t get the idea that we’re Houston-centric.  On Wednesday, Dec. 2, we’re hosting an evening reception for Dallas-area alumni, and we’re sponsoring a luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 8 for Austin-area alumni.  Dean Nimmer plans to attend both of these events to share Law Center news and perspectives.

Back in the day, the Holiday Coffee at the Law Center was THE place to be – and Dean Nimmer has revived that tradition in a big way.  Trust me on this: you and yours need to RSVP for the Holiday Coffee & Brunch that runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 in the Frankel and Heritage Rooms.

I’ll close with a special thanks to Charles Matthews ’70 for chairing our recent reception launching the new Dean’s Society reserved for elite donors to the Law Center.  Fifty enthusiastic alums attended – and dozens of them are now Dean’s Society members pledging annual gifts of $2,500 or more.

Your UH Law Alumni Association is selling you on a great school – the University of Houston Law Center – and it’s the easiest sell in the world.  To join up with your classmates and colleagues, just pick up the phone or click the mouse button and RSVP for our terrific events.

See you soon.
