Warren HarrisCongratulations to our Class of 2010!  Many alumni joined us at Hofheinz Pavilion as the Law Center hosted one of the largest commencement crowds in recent memory, and the reason can be traced to our keynote speaker: Rudy Giuliani.  The man certainly knows how to work a crowd, and his speech proved both entertaining and inspiring to our newest alumni and their families and friends.  Click here to catch Mayor Giuliani’s talk.

We leaned on our commencement speaker for something extra, and he delivered with a dinner the next evening reserved for Dean’s Society members and their guests.  Recall that we started the Dean’s Society as a new group for the top supporters of the Law Center.  Our dinner with Mayor Giuliani was one of the Dean’s Society perks to be shared with true friends of the school – and you needed to be there.  Membership in the Dean’s Society starts at $2,500 annually, and you owe it to yourself (and to your school!) to join the group.  FYI, we’re approaching our target of 100 members for our first fiscal year, and we would love to add your name to the list.  Click here to get in touch with Leah Gross and join up.

I’ll make this short, because I know I will see many of you at our Law Alumni Association Annual Meeting tomorrow at the Coronado Club in downtown Houston.  We also have a reception scheduled on Thursday in Ft. Worth at the State Bar convention.  And Regent Nelda Luce Blair is planning a reception on June 22 for our alumni in Montgomery County.  As always, you can keep up with these alumni events via the calendar posted on the Law Center website.  Bookmark this address:

One last note.  I have talked with many of our new graduates and heard them describe how proud they are of their Law Center degrees.  Our newest alumni know that we are a school on the move, and it’s clear that our momentum ultimately benefits everyone with a Law Center degree!

See you tomorrow at the annual meeting.  Enjoy your summer!
