Passport to Success - Professional Development Series
Networking in Practice Session
Wednesday, August 9th, 4pm to 6pm
The Passport to Success - Professional Development Series will consist of mandatory student learning sessions designed to cover facets of new attorney professionalism most sought after by legal employers. The first mandatory 1L professional development session, "The Map to Career Success: Exactly Where are YOU Headed?" will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017, and will help students understand their legal career options and help them learn how to network to get there.
We invite Attorneys to participate in the interactive component of this session, the Networking in Practice from 4pm to 6pm. During this "mocktail" style session, students will practice networking with attorneys and receive feedback from attorneys on how to improve their networking skills and gain more confidence in these situations. This program is designed to ease students' concerns and provide a fun and interactive environment to engage with attorneys who are interested in helping students develop vital networking tools.
Over 30 law firms, corporations, and government agencies have participated in this dynamic networking event over the last few years. As an active attorney who is dedicated to the professional development of students, you could provide invaluable insight to students on how to feel more comfortable in networking situations and maximize these opportunities. Alums and friends who participate in this program regularly comment on how meaningful it is to participate.
If you are able to participate in the Networking in Practice Session, please RSVP here and as the date approaches, we will send more specifics on the event.
We hope that you will be able to join us and the students look forward to your participation!
