Denney Wright has worked for ExxonMobil Corporation for thirty-seven years, starting initially in the Controller’s Department but serving most of his career in the Tax Department as a tax accountant and a tax lawyer. Mr. Wright has served in many positions over the years, primarily in the United States but also in the United Kingdom. He is currently Senior Tax Counsel - Gas & Power Marketing, where he oversees the worldwide tax aspects of this segment of ExxonMobil Corporation’s business. Mr. Wright holds a BBA in accounting from Texas Tech University (May, 1974), a JD from South Texas College of Law (May, 1978) and an LLM in Taxation from the University of Houston Law Center (May, 1993). Mr. Wright is a member of the Texas Bar, a member of the American Bar Association and a participant in other oil and gas industry groups including the American Petroleum Institute. As an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center and the University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Wright has taught Oil and Gas Taxation for many years. Mr. Wright is married, has three children and is active in his church as well as in scouting and community service activities.
