A.A. White Center hosts family arbitration seminar at UHLC
Dec. 3, 2013 – Family law experts and practitioners will conduct a CLE seminar Friday on family arbitration sponsored by the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Center at the University of Houston Law Center.
The presentation will be led by UHLC alumnus Jeff Kilgore ’73, an attorney, mediator, and arbitrator whose company, Kilgore Mediation Services, is based in Galveston.
Subjects include statutory provisions dealing with family arbitration; preparation of the agreement to arbitrate a family case; procedures for organizing a family arbitration, including pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and fee deposits; presentation of the case, and writing of the award.
The seminar is 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, in room 209 BLB at the Law Center, 4800 Calhoun. A reception will follow. Cost is $70. Attendees will be awarded four hours of CLE credit, including one hour of ethics credit.
