April 4, 2013 – University of Houston Law Center alumni are well represented in the latest rating of outstanding attorneys with nearly 600 listed as Super Lawyers and almost 500 cited as Rising Stars.

The Super Lawyer rating service annually reviews attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Candidates are nominated by peers who have observed the attorney in action. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators based on the Super Lawyer research department, peer evaluations, and career achievements. This year, 597 Law Center grads were chosen in practice areas across the spectrum.

Rising Stars recognizes up-and-coming attorneys under the age of 40 or who have been practicing 10 years or less. The Law Center fared well with 499 lawyers on this year's list.

Super Lawyers' objective "is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys" to provide "a trustworthy resource for both attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel."
