April 22, 2014 -- University of Houston Law Center students were in a spending mood this spring, raising more than $5,000 during the Public Interest Law Organization’s Sixth Annual Silent Auction.

The total was $1,000 more than last year and, as in past years, the hottest items were two Barbri Gift Certificates. Other items included dinners with professors, sports tickets, gift cards, and other merchandise.  The funds will be used for future PILO events, lectures, lunches, and volunteer activities.

PILO encourages careers in public interest law and service in private practice, and works to financially support students working in public interest during the summer.
