Feb. 24, 2015 – The University of Houston Law Center ranked 31st as a “Go-To” law school based on the National Law Journal’s annual survey of the number of first-year associates hired by the nation’s 250 top law firms.
Of the 255 graduates in the UHLC class of 2014, 39, or 15.29 percent, were hired by the large firms, according to data reported by the firms to the National Law Journal.
Bracewell & Giuliani and Vinson & Elkins each hired four graduates; Andrews Kurth, Greenberg Traurig, and Norton Rose Fulbright each hired three graduates; and Locke Lord and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius each hired two. Eighteen other top 250 firms each hired one graduate.
The Law Center ended 2014 in a four-way tie for 16th in the number of associates promoted to partnership at the top firms with 12.
