Students and future employers meet and greet at UHLC reception

March 27, 2015 – University of Houston Law Center students mingled with representatives of law firms and corporations Thursday to learn about the employers’ practice areas and get a feel for their cultural environment.

The school’s first “Meet the OCI Employers” reception was sponsored by the Career Development Office and attended by about 100 first-year students and 35 employers who recruit in the Fall semester as part of the On-Campus Interview Program (OCI).

“The Career Development Office planned the event in response to requests by numerous employers to meet students before OCI officially kicks off in August,” said Associate Director Kourtney James Perry. “Also, many UHLC students had expressed interest in researching OCI employers prior to the end of the school year. This event was a beneficial solution to the desires of both the students and the employers. ”
