March 8, 2016 – The University of Houston Law Center improved its “Go-To” rating based on the percentage of 2015 graduates who were hired as associates by the nation’s 100 largest law firms, according to a survey by the National Law Journal. The Law Center moved up to 29th among the country’s top 50 schools compared to 31st last year.
“I am extremely pleased that the country’s top firms are recognizing the quality of our graduates and hiring them at an increasing rate,” said UHLC Dean Leonard M. Baynes. “It’s apparent the exceptional legal foundation and practical skills we instill are of immediate benefit to our students as they embark on their professional careers and to the firms that hire them.”
The Journal also ranked the number of alumni promoted to partnerships in 2015 with the Law Center tying for 19th.
“The University of Houston Law Center has enjoyed strong relationships with leading law firms in Houston and beyond,” said Assistant Dean for Career Development Allison Regan. “It is a pleasure to see firms recruiting year after year and building the future of the profession with rich talent from the Law Center,”
