July 16, 2018 -- University of Houston Law Center alumnus Warren Harris '88 was recently named as president of the Houston Bar Association. Harris was sworn into office on May 17, and his term will end in May 2019.
Harris is a partner at Bracewell, where he specializes in appellate practice and handles hundreds of high-stakes appeals, providing strategic advice, preserving error, arguing jury charges and handling post-verdict motions.
In a Texas Lawyer article, Harris said his priority will be to accommodate local legal professionals, while continuing to assist the greater Houston community as well.
"Job one for us is serving the needs of Houston lawyers," Harris said. "We are doing wonderful public service, but we need to make sure we are taking care of lawyers in Houston," he said.
