Course Outline: International Criminal Law (Prof. Paust) (3 units)
This course will address the nature and sources of international criminal law; individual, state and other responsibilities concerning international crimes; general defenses; jurisdiction under international law; incorporation and enforcement within the U.S. or U.S. controlled territory; some attention to extradition; international tribunals (such as the IMTs at Nuremberg and the Far East, the ICTY and ICTR, and the new International Criminal Court (ICC). Detailed attention will also be paid to crimes against peace, war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and other offenses against human rights.
