Course Outline: This 3 credit survey course examines the rights of people with disabilities in the American legal system. Topics covered include constitutional protections for people with disabilities, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Rehabilitation Act, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and other federal statutes. We will also discuss the social meaning of disability and the American disability rights movement.
