Course Outline: Civil Clinic students will learn the practice of law by providing hands-on, real world legal representation to members of the Houston community in a variety of civil law cases. Students learn and use lawyering skills including representing clients in court, in mediations, and in negotiations, interviewing clients, drafting court documents, and learning case management (including client billing) while also gaining knowledge in various areas of substantive law including family, consumer, bankruptcy and probate law.

Accepted students must attend the Clinic Orientation held on Friday, May 30. A courthouse tour will take place during orientation so business dress is required. Students will receive a separate email with additional information.
