University of Houston Law Center opens nation’s latest ultramodern facility, the John M. O’Quinn Law Building, with official ribbon-cutting ceremony

 

After decades of dreaming of a modern, all-above-ground facility, the University of Houston Law Center celebrated the culmination of tremendous efforts to bring the John M. O’Quinn Law Building into reality. University of Houston and UH Law Center leaders, alumni, government officials and others involved in the building project gathered for an official ribbon-cutting of the new nearly $93 million, 180,000-square-foot building on the University of Houston campus.

President of the Association of American Law Schools Erwin Chemerinsky was joined by other national and distinguished leaders at the UH Law Center Building Dedication Conference. Presenters shared a variety of recommendations for how legal professionals and academics can promote democracy, including community engagement, diversification of the profession, use of technology and civility.
