QUESTION: Should a Justice of the Peace serve as a Reserve Deputy
Sheriff in another County?
ANSWER: No. The Committee concludes that service by a Justice of the
Peace as a law enforcement officer would be inconsistent with the provisions of Canons 1 and 2 concerning the impartiality and independence of
the judicial.
