Course Outline: Corporate compliance, one of the fastest growing markets for legal services, addresses the problems of organizations struggling to manage risk ranging from corruption to data privacy.
This class will teach you the process involved in addressing compliance risk and how to integrate compliance processes into a business. We will discuss a number of substantive compliance areas, but the goal of the class is to teach you how to develop a risk based approach to solve compliance problems.

Course Notes: (Independent Studies) The UH registration system instruction mode for this course is listed in parenthesis; however, this course will be operated as a Synchronous Online course. After student registration in November, there may be instruction mode changes to this course up through Jan. 5th, 2022, but notice of such changes will be sent to then-registered students. Contrary to the UH information, some student materials may not be available online, such as an assigned casebook. A physical classroom may be assigned for this course to give students a location in the Law Center to join the virtual class sessions. If the course has a final examination, the final and any other assessment for the course, such as a mid term exam, will be conducted without the need to physically come to the Law Center, such as, for example, via the EBB portal as a take home exam or under remote proctoring.
This class will meet on January 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 from 9 AM - 12:00 PM and 1-2:50 PM with 10 minute break each day. The final exam will be on Saturday January 15, 2022 at 9 AM.
