Course Notes: This course is NOT taught by the professor listed above. That professor is listed because he/she is the current Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
This course is only available to LL.M. students or students in the joint J.D./LL.M. program. This course is only needed for LL.M. students when they opt to take the thesis course. Taking the thesis course is not mandatory for LL.M. students.
The course is a writing course where you approach a professor with a proposal to write under the professor’s supervision of your LL.M. thesis. Almost always, this means a professor you already know.
As an LL.M. student, you will have a course selection advisor assigned to you. That advisor is often a faculty member, but that does not mean that the course selection advisor faculty member is automatically your thesis supervisor. The course selection advisor may assist you with obtaining a thesis supervisor, or may consent to supervise the thesis, but he or she is not automatically allocated for thesis supervision.
The links below give more details about the thesis course and the process. Please study them before taking the next steps to enroll for the LL.M. masters thesis course.
