Admitted Students Day

Admitted Students Day will include a Welcome from Dean Baynes, mock class, and current students and alumni panel. Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar for additional details.

Tours and Class Visits

The law school has a new home. The Office of Admissions is happy to arrange a tour and first-year class visit! Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar to select a date and time that best fits your schedule and to register.  Registration is limited to no more than one class visit per semester to allow all admitted students the opportunity to attend a class. Please schedule your tour and class visit at least 24 hours in advance. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation email and additional details regarding your visit. If you would like to tour the Law Center and/or visit a first-year class and are unable to attend in-person, there are videos and recorded class sessions available for your review below:

Chat With A Student Ambassador (Virtual Office Hours) – (45 minutes)

If you have a quick question, you may drop in anytime during this 45-minute session. A Student Ambassador will be online to answer questions from the student’s perspective.  Although this is a drop-in session, you are still asked to register at least 24 hours in advance. Registration is limited 1-2 chats per semester to allow all admitted students the opportunity to attend.  Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar to select a date and time that best fits your schedule. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation email and additional details.

Chat With Financial Aid (Virtual Office Hours) – (60 minutes)

Join us for an online chat with the Law Center’s financial aid advisor to obtain clarity on need-based aid, and navigating federal loan options. We’ll also cover recent changes to financial aid policies, including updates to borrowing limits and new caps on law school loans. Although this is a drop-in session, you are still asked to register at least 24 hours in advance. Registration is limited 1-2 chats per semester to allow all admitted students the opportunity to attend. Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar to select a date and time that best fits your schedule. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation email and additional details.

Chat With Career Development (Virtual Office Hours) – (60 minutes)

Join an online chat to ask questions and learn how the UHLC Career Development Office supports students through one‑on‑one advising, career panels, networking events, workshops, mock interviews, job fairs, recruitment programs, and access to an electronic job bank. Discover how these resources can help you navigate legal career pathways and position yourself for post‑graduate success. Although this is a drop-in session, you are still asked to register at least 24 hours in advance. Registration is limited 1-2 chats per semester to allow all admitted students the opportunity to attend. Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar to select a date and time that best fits your schedule. Once you have submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation email and additional details.

Chat With An Admissions Professional (Virtual Office Hours) – (60 minutes)

If you have a quick question, you may drop in anytime during this 60-minute session. An Admissions professional will be online to answer questions. Although this is a drop-in session, you are still asked to register at least 24 hours in advance. Registration is limited 1-2 chats per semester to allow all admitted students the opportunity to attend. Please view the Admitted Student Event Calendar to select a date and time that best fits your schedule. Walk-In Wednesdays

Walk-In Wednesdays are offered on select Wednesdays at designated times (please check the Admitted Student Event Calendar) and offers admitted students an opportunity to visit the Office of Admissions without an appointment to ask quick questions or receive brief advice. Walk-In Wednesdays provide personalized support for those questions not addressed elsewhere. We look forward to welcoming you and assisting you on your path to law school. When you arrive on campus, the parking structure for the Law Center is the Elgin Street Garage located at 4224 Elgin Street, Houston, TX 77004. Enter the Elgin Street Garage through the visitor parking entrance from Entrance 18. Park in a spot marked "Visitor" and utilize our text-to-pay system. The John M. O'Quinn Law Building is located at 4170 Martin Luther King Blvd, Houston, TX 77204. The Office of Admissions is located on the second floor of the building. 

Meet with the Admissions Staff

You will find that many of your questions are answered by reviewing the Admitted Student Page and Admitted Students Frequently Asked Questions sections of the website. After you carefully review the information on the website, if you still have questions that were not addressed by your review of the material, please register for one of the virtual office hours sessions with your specific questions. If you would like to set up an appointment, please utilize the online appointment systemAdmissions counselors are available via email, telephonically, through video conferencing and in-person.
