COVID RESPONSE
UHLC CLASS OF 2020 J.D. AND LL.M. GRADUATES CELEBRATED IN VIDEO
University of Houston Law Center faculty members, administrators, and alumni offered their congratulations in a video
released in May to students who recently completed their legal education. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and
subsequent closure of the University of Houston, commencement was postponed indefinitely.
“Graduates, we are proud of you,” said Dean Leonard M. Baynes. “You made it through Hurricane Harvey and now the
coronavirus. These are tough situations that will make you stronger and more resilient.”
“We’ve enjoyed teaching you, and we look forward to celebrating your future careers. You’re graduating from a top-tier
law school, and you should feel tremendous pride in being a UH Law Center graduate.”
