Career Development Staff

Tiffany J. Tucker, Assistant Dean for Career Development
Tiffany joined the Career Development Office after practicing transactional intellectual property and general corporate law at a large New York law firm and is a member of the New York Bar. Tiffany earned a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology from Grambling State University, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University, and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law. A native Texan, Tiffany is a former mental health counselor and professional development specialist.

Kourtney James Perry, Director, Employer Relations and Development
Kourtney is a graduate of Harvard University with a B.A. in History of Science.  She earned her J.D. from Stanford University Law School.  Prior to joining the Career Development Office, Kourtney practiced corporate transactional  law at a large Houston firm.  While in law school, Kourtney coordinated the school’s annual Black Law Students Association conference.

Bill Powers, Senior Career Specialist

Bill Powers, Director, Internship & Externship Programs
A native Houstonian, Bill Powers is a graduate of Houston Baptist University and University of Houston Law Center.  Bill joined the Career Development Office after an alternative legal career as a managing editor for a respected legal publishing company.

Margaret De Young, Senior Career Specialist
Margaret was an energy and global transactions attorney at a large Houston law firm, then in-house counsel for a Sugar Land crude, NGLs, and refined products pipeline, terminaling, and marketing company. Her practice focused on corporate and securities matters, including M&A, securities offerings, and corporate finance transactions. She earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and her B.S. in Biological Sciences and Theatre from Vanderbilt University.

Ginna Pastrano, Senior Career Specialist
Ginna earned her B.A. in English from the University of Houston, and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.  Prior to joining the Career Development Office, Ginna practiced commercial litigation with a Texas based law firm.  She is a native Houstonian and previously worked in recruiting, professional development and career advancement.

Paul Klinger, Senior Career Specialist

Paul began working at the Career Development Office after practicing employment law and serving as an EEO Consultant and investigator for a local corporation. Paul earned both a B.A. in English and a J.D. from the University of Houston. 

Stephanie Gallo

Stephanie Gallo, Senior Career Specialist

Stephanie is a graduate of Louisiana State University and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Prior to joining the Career Development Office, Stephanie was a judicial law clerk for District Chief Justice Lee Romero, Jr. of the Office of Administrative Law Judges, United States Department of Labor. Following her clerkship Stephanie entered private practice at a law firm in New York, New York. After moving to Houston, Texas, she continued her practice with a local firm. Stephanie's litigation experience focused on civil defense of clients under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act. 

Bhavika Shah, Graduate Employment Statistics Consultant

Bhavika works with the UHLC graduates and the graduate counselors to compile, review, and ensure the accuracy of the employment statistics we submit to the ABA and all other reporting agencies. She first joined the Career Development Office as a Career Counselor in 2013. Bhavika has practiced in the areas of civil litigation and workers' compensation in Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois – Urbana, Champaign and earned her J.D. from the University Of Illinois College Of Law. During law school, Bhavika worked for a variety of legal employers, including public interest, government, and in-house.

Kecia Branch, Program Coordinator
As program coordinator, Kecia Branch provides support to the Career Development Office by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing, and coordinating recruiting, networking, job fairs, and workshop programs for students and alumni. Before joining the Law Center staff, Kecia worked several years as a Legal Assistant and building manager at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic & Center for Social Justice at Loyola New Orleans College of Law assisting Clinical Professors and clinic students. Kecia previously worked as a legal assistant to the senior attorney at a New Orleans area law firm. She earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, her Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies from Tulane University, and her Certificate in Human Resources Development fromTulane University.
