PreLaw magazine recognizes UHLC as top school in family law, health law and Moot Court

Moot Court Moot Court Moot Court

Aug. 22, 2024 – The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) received national recognition in three areas—Moot Court Leaders, Top School for Family Law, and Top School for Health Law—in the 2024-25 Back to School issue of preLaw magazine.

The Top Schools for Moot Court were selected based on “an outstanding record of preparing students for legal careers through moot court competitions.”

The UH Law Center’s Moot Court Team, part of the Blakely Advocacy Institute,, competes annually in numerous national and international competitions, refining their appellate advocacy skills by arguing cases before judges.

Family law and health law rankings were based on the breadth of curricular offerings and highlight the strengths of UHLC’s Health Law & Policy Institute (HLPI) and Center for Children, Law & Policy. The HLPI is recognized for over 40 years of leadership in health law education, scholarship, and policy analysis. The Center for Children, Law & Policy advances children's interests through legal scholarship and advocacy.

PreLaw magazine serves as a guide for undergraduates considering a legal career, offering insights and academic ratings to help with school selection.
