HOUSTON, February 24, 2025 – The University of Houston Law Center’s Lawyering Skills and Strategies program has added two new faculty members.
Maleaha Brown, a clinical associate professor, specializes in lawyering skills and family law. She previously taught at Southwestern Law School and worked as a family law attorney with Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, representing survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Brown chairs the American Bar Association’s Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence and received an Excellence in Service Award from the ABA’s Section of Family Law in 2021. She is actively involved with Ms. JD, an organization focused on supporting women in the legal profession.
She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Baylor University and her J.D. from Howard University School of Law.
Christina Crozier, a UH Law Center alumna, joined LSS as a clinical assistant professor after nearly two decades in the appellate practice group at Haynes Boone. She teaches lawyering skills and strategies to first-year students.
Board-certified in civil appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, she has argued before the U.S. Fifth Circuit, the Texas Supreme Court, and multiple state appellate courts. She has also been recognized by Texas Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
Crozier earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Communication at the University of Texas in Austin in 2001 and her J.D. from UHLC in 2005. She served as a fellow for the Texas Bar Association and the Houston Bar Association in 2024. She is also a past chair of the HBA’s Appellate Section.
