Tiffany J. Tucker, Assistant Dean for Career Development

Tiffany joined the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) Career Development Office (CDO) after practicing transactional intellectual property and general corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and is a member of the New York Bar. Tiffany earned a B.A. in both Psychology and Sociology from Grambling State University, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Florida A&M University, and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law.
 
A native Texan, Tiffany is a former mental health counselor and professional development specialist. Tiffany oversees employer outreach and student career counseling, facilitates the Passport to Success Professional Development Program, manages recent graduate employment data collection and reporting, and provides one-on-one career counseling to alumni. Kourtney James, Director, Employer Relations and Development

Kourtney is the Director of Employer Relations and Development for the CDO. In addition to career counseling, Kourtney engages in strategic outreach to private- and public-sector legal employers to cultivate relationships and identify and develop new job opportunities for UHLC students and alumni. Kourtney also manages the following recruiting programs: On-Campus Interview Program (OCI), JD-Advantage Table Talk, Law Firm Fellowship Pipeline Program, Corporate Fellowship Pipeline Program, Corporate Internship Pipeline Program, and off-campus recruiting programs.
 
Prior to joining the CDO, Kourtney practiced corporate transactional law at Vinson & Elkins LLP. She is a member of the Texas Bar and currently serves as an ex officio member of the UHLC Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Bill Powers, Senior Career Specialist

Bill Powers, Director, Internship & Externship Programs

A native Houstonian, Bill Powers earned a B.A. in English and History from Houston Baptist University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.  Bill joined the CDO after an alternative legal career as a managing editor for a respected legal publishing company. As Director of Internship & Externship Programs, he coordinates internships, externships, and paid student and graduate job opportunities with government, non-profit, and judicial employers, including managing the annual Government & Public Interest Table Talk. He also oversees the Externship Program for students seeking academic credit for internships and teaches the Government and Nonprofit Externship I & II and Judicial Externship I & II courses. Bill is a member of the Texas Bar and is also an ex officio member of the UHLC Judicial Clerkship Committee.  Email: wapowers@Central.UH.edu

Chandria Jackson, Associate Director for Career Development

As Associate Director, Chandria develops and executes professional development, career exploration, and student-focused career programming in addition to providing one-on-one career counseling to J.D. and LL.M. students.  Chandria also assists with employer relations and development by serving as the employer liaison for private sector employers with fifty or fewer attorneys and coordinating the CDO’s Small and Midsize Firm Open House.

Chandria earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.  Prior to attending law school, she earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and worked as a quality assurance engineer for a software company.
  
Chandria is a member of the Texas Bar, who joined the CDO after spending twelve years in private practice representing businesses in commercial and personal injury litigation with a midsize law firm and a national insurance defense firm. Email: ctjacks5@central.uh.edu

Paul Klinger, Assistant Director for Career Development

Paul joined the CDO after practicing employment law and serving as an EEO Consultant and investigator for a Houston-based corporation. Paul earned a B.A. in English at the University of Houston and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He is a member of the Texas Bar and manages the UHLC Professional Mentoring Program and serves as a school liaison for the Houston Bar Association Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s 1L Diversity & Inclusion Summer Clerkship and Mentoring Program.  Paul specializes in providing one-on-one career counseling to J.D. students in the UHLC Full-time and Part-time programs. Anton Montano

Anton Montano, Assistant Director for Career Development

Anton earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Houston, a J.D. from Cornell Law School, and an LL.M. from the University of Alabama School of Law.  Prior to joining the CDO, Anton practiced employment and business law litigation and counseling both as a solo practitioner and as an associate of both state and national law firms, including Baker Hostetler LLP and Littler Mendelson PC.  He draws on his experience as a Law Clerk for the late Honorable Lucius D. Bunton III, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, and as an adjunct instructor of undergraduate courses in business law at Prairie View A&M University.  Anton is a member of the Texas Bar. He primarily counsels students about employment and professional development matters; advises students and alumni interested in establishing solo practices; and supports the CDO’s employer outreach, professional development, and alumni programs. Anne Elise Doise

 

Anne Elise Doise, Employment Statistics Consultant

Anne Elise is a native of Lafayette, LA and completed her undergraduate work in finance at Baylor University and subsequently, a Masters in Dispute Resolution at Southern Methodist University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University. After law school, she worked as a commercial litigator for a large Louisiana based law firm before joining the CDO as a Senior Career Development Specialist. She is a member of the Louisiana Bar and currently supports alumni in the pursuit of their post-graduate employment efforts and facilitates recent graduate employment data collection and reporting by implementing compliance protocols. Bhavika Shah

Bhavika Shah , Graduate Employment Statistics Consultant

Bhavika supports alumni in their post-graduate job search and ensures that graduate employment statistics are gathered and reported in compliance with ABA regulations. She first joined the Career Development Office as a Senior Career Development Specialist in 2013 after having practiced civil litigation and workers' compensation in Illinois. She graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois – Urbana, Champaign and earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. Kecia Branch, Program Manager

Kecia Branch is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. Before joining the CDO, Kecia worked several years as a Legal Assistant and building manager at the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic & Center for Social Justice at Loyola New Orleans College of Law assisting Clinical Professors and clinic students. She also earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. Kecia manages CDO programming and events, job postings, and employer and student communications.
