Campus Resources

The University of Houston is one of the nation’s most diverse and comprehensive research universities. It serves 36,000 students, offering nearly 300 degrees, including undergraduate, doctoral-level and professional degrees. The 560-acre UH campus is also known for its commitment to a “total environment” for its students. The campus includes one of the nation’s largest and most advanced recreation centers. Located three blocks from the Law Center, the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center offers state-of-the-art ball courts, indoor track and fitness areas, a natatorium, and a climbing wall.

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

The Justin Dart, Jr. Center for Students with DisABILITIES can arrange auxiliary aids, exam assistance, transcription services, and library services for students with special needs. With early notice, the Office of Student Affairs will work with students to approve and secure accommodations for special needs. uh.edu/csd

STUDENT HEALTH AND INSURANCE

The UH Student Health Center provides a range of medical services and health counseling and can refer students to acute-care health facilities when necessary. Health insurance is recommended for all students and required for all international students with an F or J visa status. www.uh.edu/healthcenter

COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Professional counselors are available to assist students with personal issues ranging from stress related disorders to alcohol or drug dependency. http://www.uh.edu/caps/

CHILD CARE

The UH Children's Learning Center enrolls children of students, faculty, and staff. Children ages 3 months to 5 years are eligible. uh.edu/clc

CAMPUS RECREATION AND WELLNESS CENTER

The Campus Recreation and Wellness Center at the University of Houston is located a few blocks from the Law Center. This amazing facility offers everything from a three-story rock-climbing wall to a world-class natatorium featuring 50-meter lap lanes, facilities for platform and springboard diving, and an outdoor leisure pool. A full range of exercise classes are available, along with multiple settings for indoor sports ranging from soccer to basketball to martial arts. uh.edu/recreation
