University of Houston Law Center - LL.M. Program Requirements
- Successfully complete a minimum of 24 credit hours of approved coursework.
- Within 24 credits, meet the required grade point average and successfully complete the required number of concentration-specific credits.
- Complete all program requirements within three years of admission and be continuously enrolled every fall and spring semester for a minimum of three credits.
- Courses previously completed in a student’s J.D. (or first law degree) program cannot be credited toward meeting the LL.M. requirement.
- All students who earned their law degree outside of the United States are required to take two courses their first semester; * Introduction to American Law (5319) and *Legal Writing (5338). Both courses are counted toward meeting the 24-credit program requirement.
